It took a long time for him to finally choose a winner.

Exhibition Day is near...

22/3/2018

Easter is near and so is our Exhibition. We have many fantastic photos in the competition and a market with lots of variety of goodies for sale. The Easter egg hunt for the children should be fun and the Sunday 'Meet & Mingle' is always a winner.

Just remember in your Easter weekend to come to the exhibition in Moonambel either Saturday or Sunday.

A very colourful and vibrant exhibition was enjoyed by all who attended with nine actual styles of work on display.

We saw:
  • landscapes
  • colourful abstracts
  • caricatures
  • quilting
  • mosaics
  • photographs
  • prints
  • collage
  • wood carving
and a quirky BLACK piece constructed by our local quirky artist...

Thanks, Bernard, for your imagination
which goes beyond
the theme of the event.

We love it!

The public was given the task of choosing a favourite artwork.
Not an easy task with the quality and variety of the entries.
Eventually, at the 'Meet and Greet' on Sunday afternoon,
'Moonambel CBD' by Maggie Barnes-Oake
was declared the favourite.

Maggie is our own very talented artist
who has many artistic styles under her belt both 2D and 3D
but is recently dabbling in caricatures involving Moonambel people, places and events.
We always enjoy seeing her latest work
recognising who and what she is depicting in each artwork.
We wonder what she will do in her next venture.

Local politician Louise Staley donated the $200 prize
and enjoyed being able to meet the artist as well as present the cheque.

and local wines being enjoyed by one and all...

The weekend saw scores of people passing through our doors.

We heard many positive comments and we feel that this has been the best photo exhibition to date.

PictureFLIGHT

The quality was astounding.

Even though only one person could win, the Stawell Camera Club judges wanted to say that many were of winning quality and it was very hard to narrow down to just one.

  • The Exhibition has begun.
  • The market was a sea of busyness through the morning.
  • The exhibition was well received.
  • A very high standard of exhibits were on show.
  • The visitors had trouble choosing just one photo to be the best in the show.

  • And there is still tomorrow!

There are 138 photos to be viewed.
Finding the best in the show was an extremely hard job.
Nobody envied the independent judges.

The Moonambel Rec. Reserve Committee always stage a market on the Saturday morning of our 2 day exhibitions.

The community looks forward to a browse of the stalls as well as patronising our exhibitions.  We also run a barbecue and Devonshire teas at the market as part of providing a service for the community.
