we are excited to present Maggie's annual Open Studio.
Maggie will be working
at her house all weekend
so feel free to talk
to the artist at work.
Maggie is also exhibiting
work by local
Jacqui & Russell Drever and ceramisist Sanne Malkaer.
The beautifully renovated
mud brick octagonal home,
all done by Maggie herself,
is a pleasant back drop
for these talented artists
to display their art pieces.
The weather was kind for our Easter photo exhibition with the crowds coming to both days.
The standard was very high and we had
a record number of entries with the judge choosing
seventeen Highly Commended photos (it is usually just a couple
It took a long time for him to finally choose a winner.
So here are the final results.
We would like to thank all the photographers for making our show such a high standard.
Without you there is no show.
Easter is near and so is our Exhibition. We have many fantastic photos in the competition and a market with lots of variety of goodies for sale. The Easter egg hunt for the children should be fun and the Sunday 'Meet & Mingle' is always a winner.
Just remember in your Easter weekend to come to the exhibition in Moonambel either Saturday or Sunday.
As we expected, the artists,
Merri Hogan and Barry Fox,
provided us with a very classy exhibition.
Their work definitely
complemented each other with the
natural colours of earth and timber
providing an Australian atmosphere.
Barry exhibited his Australian animals
but also some new creations
from the fantasy world.
They were definitely a talking point.

We are thrilled to present
two local artists combining
in what promises to be
a most exciting exhibition.
Both artists are branching out
into new areas.
Merri Hogan comes from
a drawing background
and is exploring this further
with etching and printing.
Barry Fox usually
carves small animals
and is venturing into
the fantasy world.
We are also running a market
on the Saturday 9am to 1pm.
Contact Jan Curtis
if you would like to run a stall.
As usual, MAHG will run
a barbecue stall
and devonshire teas (or coffees)
during the market hours.
See you there!
Thanks, Bernard, for your imagination
which goes beyond
the theme of the event.
We love it!
The public was given the task of choosing a favourite artwork.
Not an easy task with the quality and variety of the entries.
Eventually, at the 'Meet and Greet' on Sunday afternoon,
'Moonambel CBD' by Maggie Barnes-Oake
was declared the favourite.
Maggie is our own very talented artist
who has many artistic styles under her belt both 2D and 3D
but is recently dabbling in caricatures involving Moonambel people, places and events.
We always enjoy seeing her latest work
recognising who and what she is depicting in each artwork.
We wonder what she will do in her next venture.
Local politician Louise Staley donated the $200 prize
and enjoyed being able to meet the artist as well as present the cheque.
The event concluded with the magnificent spread
and local wines being enjoyed by one and all...
Another successful event put the rest.

After a very successful dabble with black and white
in the charcoal workshop
we are moving on to our
a multimedia spectrum
of the rainbow.
You are welcome to exhibit (see previous poster calling for artists) or join us
for a Springtime activity taking in a market
on the Saturday showing.
Our website was created December 2012. The History page lists activities from 2003 to 2012.
We will keep you informed as these projects develop and of any new projects which arise...
