2018 is the 100th anniversary
of the signing of the Armistice
to end World War I.
We will once again hold a small service
at the Moonambel Memorial
in the main street
to honour this event.
Moonambel Community Theatre Company was invited to take part in the inaugural Midwinter Festival, an MEI event. Being a small but vibrant community, the theatre company was only too pleased to assist.
They helped to create the atmosphere of Steve Lane's original refrain by joining with the Pyrenees Chorale to walk lights towards the welcoming bonfire. While beautiful music filled the air hot air balloons were released into the night.
Hopefully, the Festival will be repeated in the future.
All approvals are finalised
so that Moonambel now has
a community ceramic centre.
The facility now comprises
a large LPG kiln and associated kiln furniture,
a kick pottery wheel,
a wood fired Raku kiln
a workbench, a storage rack and a sturdy lockable cupboard.
A pottery workshop will be held at the Centre on Sunday, June 3 from 10.00 am till about 3.00 pm leading up to the official opening Sunday, June 17, with an all-day firing of both
the wood fired Raku kiln and the gas-fired kiln.A fee of $10.00 per participant will apply to cover materials for two pots.
There will be an additional firing fee for pots to be fired in the gas kiln.

It took a long time for him to finally choose a winner.
So here are the final results.
We would like to thank all the photographers for making our show such a high standard.
Without you there is no show.
Easter is near and so is our Exhibition. We have many fantastic photos in the competition and a market with lots of variety of goodies for sale. The Easter egg hunt for the children should be fun and the Sunday 'Meet & Mingle' is always a winner.
Just remember in your Easter weekend to come to the exhibition in Moonambel either Saturday or Sunday.
The Moonambel Mechanics Hall had a weekend of celebrating the 80th Anniversary of 'new' hall. (The old one washed away in the floods of 1937!)
MCTC performed 'Its Raining At Lulubels's where we were entertained with an impression of how it must have been back then with the community coming together to build the hall we know today.
Lots of music, comedy and entertainment as we were taken through the 4 years it took to build.
Our website was created December 2012. The History page lists activities from 2003 to 2012.
We will keep you informed as these projects develop and of any new projects which arise...
